Thephor is a patented creation of the University of Padua, skillfully crafted by the esteemed artisan enterprise, Costruzioni Meccaniche Carabin C., located in Valle di Cadore, Belluno, Italy. This establishment boasts a rich heritage and extensive experience.

The specialized tool is engineered with precision to extract small cylindrical wood fragments (16 mm in length and 2 mm in diameter) from living trees. The microcores obtained comprise the outermost stem tissues, such as the bark, phloem, cambial zone, and the most recently formed tree rings. It is worth mentioning that the device excels at conducting rapid and high-quality sampling while minimizing damage to the stems.

With its hard, sharp cutting tip that effectively penetrates wood without compromising its edge, and a sturdy steel base that remains unyielding even under hammer strikes during sampling procedures, it distinguishes itself. The innovative design, technical expertise, and use of high-quality materials guarantee dependable production of microcores that meet high standards, even after extensive sampling.

Additionally, customisation is an option for items of different sizes upon request.
